Nonsurgical Neck Lift Options Compared: EmbraceRF vs. FaceTite vs. Morpheus8

Many patients notice signs of aging in their neck before they notice them anywhere else on the face. A crease that was not there the year before. Skin that folds instead of lying smooth. Fullness under the chin that skincare alone cannot resolve. None of this means you are doing something wrong. It happens for reasons that have little to do with how well you take care of your skin.

What patients often do not realize before their first consultation is that “the neck” is rarely one problem. It is usually several concerns layered on top of each other, and each one responds best to a different technology. AURAE MD approaches a nonsurgical neck lift with three technologies that work alone or together: EmbraceRF, FaceTite and Morpheus8. Once you understand what is happening beneath the skin, it gets much easier to see how Dr. Margo Aura Emami matches them to your neck.

Why the Neck Often Shows Age Before the Face Does

Neck skin is not structured the same way facial skin is. It has a thinner dermis, fewer sebaceous glands and a naturally higher elastin-to-collagen ratio than the skin on your face. Dermatologists sometimes refer to the resulting gap, a youthful face paired with an aged neck, as cervical aging discordance. Because the neck has less collagen to begin with and produces less natural oil, it is more prone to dryness, sagging and banding, and it often shows visible aging years before the face does.

A more modern factor adds to this. Frequent, prolonged downward glances at phones and laptops create repetitive creasing across the neck, a pattern we now call tech neck. This exacerbates the changes happening internally.

A neck lift targets multiple concerns simultaneously. Patients usually come in with a mix of complaints about surface texture, muscle banding and skin laxity, and this determines which technology or mix of technologies Dr. Emami recommends for you.

The Three Layers of Neck Aging

Patients often come in asking for “the” neck treatment, expecting a single answer. In practice, neck aging happens in different ways. Some patients notice only fine surface lines. Others have visible sagging with no textural concerns. Many have a mix of both, sometimes with stubborn fullness under the chin. Identifying which concerns apply to you and their underlying causes determines the right treatment.

  • Surface texture: Fine lines, crepiness and uneven tone that sit close to the skin’s surface.
  • Structural laxity: Loose, sagging skin that has lost the collagen scaffolding to hold its shape, often with fullness under the chin.
  • Deeper contouring needs: Cases where skin laxity and stubborn fat are both present and a single approach will not be enough to see real change.

EmbraceRF, FaceTite and Morpheus8 can address these three components of neck aging. Understanding which one you are dealing with and which device targets that specific component is more useful than asking which device is “best.”

Morpheus8: Rebuilding From the Surface Down

Morpheus8 is a device for radiofrequency microneedling, meaning tiny needles deliver controlled heat to a customizable depth beneath the skin. That heat prompts fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin. Morpheus8 is often the right answer for fine lines, early crepiness and uneven texture across the neck, and it can firm mild laxity as well.

Because radiofrequency does not target pigment the way many lasers do, Morpheus8 suits a wide range of skin tones. A 2023 systematic review in Dermatologic Surgery found a low risk of scarring or lasting hyperpigmentation with radiofrequency microneedling in Fitzpatrick skin types III through VI, though several studies noted temporary darkening that later faded. In a city as diverse as San Diego, that’s a major benefit.

Most patients need one to three Morpheus8 sessions. The effects of new collagen growth become visible around four weeks, look most noticeable at three to six months, and continue to build for up to a year.

FaceTite: Tightening Skin Where It Has Started to Sag

FaceTite goes a layer deeper. Through a tiny entry point, Dr. Emami places a slim probe beneath the skin while an external electrode glides over the surface above it. Bipolar radiofrequency energy flows between the two, contracting existing collagen on contact and melting small pockets of fat.

Clinical data on this radiofrequency technology shows skin contraction of up to 40 percent, which is why FaceTite is often the treatment of choice for a double chin, jowls or lost jawline definition. It is performed under local anesthesia with mild oral relaxation, takes about an hour for the neck, and most patients see some improvement immediately, with continued tightening over three to six months as new collagen forms.

EmbraceRF: When You Need More Than One Layer Addressed

EmbraceRF is a combination platform that brings FaceTite, AccuTite and Morpheus8 together. It exists for a simple reason. Most necks that come through our door are not dealing with just texture or just laxity. They are dealing with both, and treating only one concern leaves the other untouched.

By pairing the deep contraction of FaceTite with the surface remodeling of Morpheus8 and the precision of AccuTite for delicate areas, EmbraceRF delivers more improvement. Results appear immediately and continue improving for up to twelve months.

What About Vertical Neck Bands?

Vertical cords that run down the front of the neck usually come from the platysma, a thin sheet of muscle, rather than from loose skin. Radiofrequency cannot relax a muscle, so it is not the right solution for neck banding.

In October 2024, the FDA approved Botox for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe platysma bands, making it the first neuromodulator approved for this use.

AURAE MD also offers Daxxify, a peptide-stabilized neuromodulator that tends to last longer between appointments. Dr. Emami can help you decide which fits your goals and pair either one with your radiofrequency treatment plan.

Which Treatment Is Right for Your Nonsurgical Neck Lift?

None of these treatments is objectively better than the others. Each one was engineered for a specific depth and concern, so the right choice depends on which concern, or combination of concerns, is showing up for you.

  • Fine lines, dryness and early crepiness with minimal sagging usually respond well to Morpheus8 on its own, and it doubles as a preventive treatment for patients who want to start early.
  • Visible skin laxity, a soft jawline or early jowling without much textural concern often calls for FaceTite, which can deliver noticeable tightening in a single session.
  • When loose skin, submental fullness and textural concerns are all present, and you want the most complete transformation available without surgery, EmbraceRF combines all three technologies into one appointment.

Two patients with seemingly similar concerns can require completely different treatment plans depending on their skin thickness, fat distribution and medical history. That kind of nuance is exactly what makes personalized treatment planning so critical, and it is central to how Dr. Emami builds every plan at AURAE MD.

When a Surgical Neck Lift Makes More Sense

Nonsurgical options work best for mild to moderate skin laxity. A 2022 review in Facial Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Medicine describes the ideal FaceTite candidate as someone with early jowling, mild to moderate laxity and some fullness under the chin. If your skin hangs in heavy folds (for example, after major weight loss), tightening collagen will be insufficient. A surgical neck lift with skin removal is the most effective choice for advanced skin laxity.

Dr. Emami will tell you plainly if that is your situation. Early in her career, she ran a perioperative medicine clinic that prepared patients for extensive plastic and reconstructive surgery, so she knows what an operation can accomplish and when it is the smarter choice than a nonsurgical treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions About Nonsurgical Neck Lifts

How much does a nonsurgical neck lift cost?

The cost depends on which technology you choose and how many sessions you need. You will receive a detailed quote at your consultation with Dr. Emami.

Is Morpheus8 or FaceTite better for a double chin?

FaceTite usually does more for a double chin because it melts fat and contracts tissue beneath the skin. Morpheus8 fits best when your concerns center on texture rather than volume.

How long do nonsurgical neck lift results last?

The new collagen your skin produces can last a long time, but natural aging continues. Many patients return for maintenance every year or two. Daily sunscreen use and maintaining a stable weight are two of the smartest choices you can make to help protect your investment.

Does a nonsurgical neck lift hurt?

With a radiofrequency treatment, most patients describe a warm sensation instead of pain. Local numbing medication keeps you comfortable throughout your treatment.

Discover What Your Neck Needs With a Consultation

Your neck ages differently than your face, so it needs its own treatment plan rather than an extension of your facial routine. Whether your concern is fine surface lines, visible sagging or a mix that calls for EmbraceRF’s full platform, the most reliable way to find out is a consultation, not a guess.

AURAE MD serves patients throughout San Diego and the North County area, including La Jolla, Del Mar, Carmel Valley and Encinitas. Schedule a complimentary consultation with Dr. Emami by calling (858) 461-8543 or contact us online to find out which of these technologies, or which combination, is right for your neck.
