About Skin Laxity and Facial Aging
Skin laxity or loss in tightness occurs over time as the amount and integrity of collagen and elastin is affected by age, environmental factors, medical issues, weight changes and genetics. As these support structures weaken in the facial area, the skin becomes less able to stay firm and keep its shape. Less support means more sagging and creasing, along with changes in the overall contour of the face.
Facial aging is also influenced by fat loss and bone density changes, which can alter the structure of the face on a deeper level. Reduced circulation and slower cellular turnover can impact the skin’s texture and tone, and these changes can all create the visible signs of aging that bring patients into our office.
What is FaceTite?
FaceTite is a device that utilizes minimally invasive radio-frequency thermal energy for tightening and contouring of the face, neck, and body, previously only attainable through surgery.
FaceTite is part of the Embrace RF platform, which also includes Accutite and Morpheus8. This unique combination of technologies tightens skin and remodels fat in the face and body, offering the latest alternative for patients not ready for or wanting surgery, or who just want to look their best with minimal downtime.

FaceTite, AccuTite, and Morpheus8 can be combined with Botox and filler therapies such as the Y LIFT to create the ultimate in facial rejuvenation and a natural-looking, nonsurgical face and neck lift.
The Science Behind FaceTite
FaceTite Technology
FaceTite uses bipolar radiofrequency energy by way of a small internal probe and an external electrode. Energy flows between these two points with the skin in between and applies controlled heating to the tissue while protecting the surface from damage. The technology was developed to work in areas where skin laxity and localized fat occur together.
How Radiofrequency Works
Radiofrequency is a type of electrical energy that produces heat when passed through tissue. The heat affects proteins such as collagen, which naturally tighten when exposed to specific temperatures. As radiofrequency energy moves through the tissue, it also stimulates fibroblasts, the cells that are responsible for producing new collagen.
Tissue Contraction, Remodeling and Fat Reduction
Immediate tightening occurs as existing collagen contracts in response to heat. After the treatment, the body begins a healing process that includes collagen renewal and production. Any fat cells that are exposed to this heat also break down and are either processed naturally by the body or removed during the procedure through liposuction.
Temperature Monitoring
It is important during the treatment to monitor the temperature inside and out to avoid overheating the skin. FaceTite technology includes temperature sensors that continuously monitor heat levels internally and externally so the device can reach good therapeutic temperatures while staying safe for the skin. Dr. Emami can make real-time adjustments based on these readings.
FaceTite vs. Facelift and Liposuction
Facelift surgery is a more invasive option that is used when there is excessive loose skin along the jawline. While surgery can remove loose skin, it doesn’t address the quality of the skin or prevent further laxity. Aging continues after surgery, which leads to changes in collagen and elastin that can influence the firmness and texture of facial skin. FaceTite can be used alongside other surgeries or by itself to tighten the skin.
Liposuction is a surgical procedure that removes fat from under the chin. While liposuction can reduce fat, it does little to tighten skin and can sometimes result in worsened laxity, not to mention discomfort and bruising post-procedure. FaceTite can liquefy fat and tighten the skin at the same time, and it comes with less downtime.

The Benefits of FaceTite
FaceTite Benefits include:
No incisions / Up to 40% skin contraction / Natural results
Comfortable / Office Procedure / No General Anesthesia
Shorter downtime / Minimal to no Bruising / Less Traumatic
What Areas Can Be Treated?
FaceTite effectively treats any small area with lax skin and/or excess fat. Treatment areas can include:
- Double chin: Submental fullness and loose skin often develop together. Treatment in the area is suitable for tightening tissue while refining the contour beneath the chin.
- Jowl: Age-related descent of fat and softening along the lower cheeks can contribute to heaviness at the jaw, which FaceTite treats by contracting tissue below the skin.
- Jawline: When definition along the jaw decreases, radio-frequency energy can help firm the underlying support system and restore cleaner facial lines.
- Bra line: The bra line commonly holds dense fat and lax skin that do not respond well to diet or exercise and is a frequent area of concern.
- Abdomen: After weight changes or pregnancy, the abdominal skin may lose elasticity, and FaceTite can help tighten tissue while smoothing contour irregularities.
- Knees: Thin skin and reduced collagen around the knees often lead to early laxity, which can be treated by stimulating tissue contraction in this area.

Before and After FaceTite

FaceTite Consultation
A FaceTite consultation is a dedicated visit where we take time to understand your goals, medical history and overall health. We review areas of concern and discuss whether FaceTite aligns with your expectations. You should bring a list of current medications and relevant medical history, along with any prior cosmetic treatment details. We may take photographs for planning and documentation, and we will save time for you to ask questions so you feel informed moving forward.
Preparing for FaceTite
Preparation begins with following all of the pre-treatment instructions we provide, which may include adjusting certain medications or supplements that can increase bruising. Smoking and nicotine use should be paused ahead of treatment since they can affect circulation and healing.
We recommend that you stay well hydrated and continue eating nutritious meals to support tissue response and recovery. When the day of your appointment arrives, come in with clean skin and do not wear any makeup or lotions on the treatment area. Even though this treatment is less invasive, you should still arrange to have a lighter schedule for a few days afterward to make the experience more comfortable.
What Can I Expect During a FaceTite Treatment?
Marking and Treatment Planning
Before your treatment begins, we will examine the areas around your lower face again and mark the skin to guide the device once the treatment begins. We pay attention to areas with excess fat and tissue where FaceTite can be beneficial.
Anesthesia Administration
FaceTite is a comfortable, in-office procedure done with local anesthesia and mild, oral relaxing medication. This combination helps minimize discomfort while allowing you to remain awake and responsive throughout the treatment.
Inserting the FaceTite Device
After local anesthesia is performed, the FaceTite wand is gently placed underneath the skin to painlessly contract loose skin and melt fat as desired. We gently press the skin between the internal probe and the external electrode while moving the device across the skin, similar to the motion used when straightening hair with a flat iron. You may feel tugging sensations or warmth, but you will not feel pain.
Post Treatment Dressing
Once treatment is complete, the small entry points are covered, and we place a compression garment around your head to support the area as it heals. We will give you instructions on wear time and any other aftercare tips before you leave the office.
How Quickly Will I See Results from FaceTite?
Results are immediate with more noticeable results occurring at about 3 to 6 months as new collagen forms and continues up to a year. You will see tightening from the skin contraction along your jawline, and your skin may feel a little firmer. Fat reduction is not apparent right away without direct removal through liposuction, and there may be some swelling, but you will notice more slimming and tightening as your body processes the fat and continues to produce more collagen. The timeline for full FaceTite results varies based on factors like the treatment area and healing response.
What Kind of Care is Needed After a FaceTite Procedure?
As FaceTite is minimally invasive, there is no post-procedure pain. Mild swelling and occasionally small bruising may temporarily occur for up to a week. Depending on the area and extent of treatment, a compression dressing may be worn for 48-72 hours for the neck and 2 to 6 weeks on the body to achieve optimal results. Most patients find that they may resume normal activities in just a few days. We do ask that patients have a responsible adult drive them home afterwards. We may recommend additional aftercare steps such as:
- Keeping treated areas clean and dry: Small entry points should be gently cleansed as instructed to reduce irritation.
- Sleeping with the head elevated: Elevation during the first few nights can help tissues settle and limit swelling.
- Avoiding strenuous activity and heavy lifting: Light movement is encouraged, but pause intense workouts until we let you know you can resume them.
- Limiting sun exposure to treated areas: Sun protection supports skin recovery and helps maintain treatment outcomes as healing progresses.
- Following all medication and skincare instructions: Use any prescribed medications or recommended topical products as directed for proper healing and comfort.
Maintaining Your FaceTite Results
Maintaining your results starts with consistent skincare that helps your body continue to produce collagen and protects it from sun damage. It is also important to stay at a stable weight, both to prevent the recurrence of unwanted fat and to keep the skin from becoming lax. Maintain healthy lifestyle habits like proper hydration and avoid smoking to support skin quality in the long term. We may recommend periodic non-surgical treatments to keep your skin tight and youthful.
Who Is a Good Candidate for FaceTite?
Good candidates for FaceTite have mild to moderate skin laxity with enough remaining elasticity to respond to the radiofrequency heating. Overall health should be stable, with no active infections or conditions that interfere with normal healing. Candidates should be able to pause nicotine use, follow compression and aftercare guidelines and allow time for gradual collagen development after InMode FaceTite treatments. FaceTite may not be right for those with certain medical conditions, and implanted electronic devices may limit eligibility for radiofrequency treatments.
Comparing FaceTite to Other Skin Tightening Options
AccuTite
When treatment is desired in very small or delicate areas, we may recommend AccuTite. The device uses the same radiofrequency energy but in a more compact format. We can use AccuTite around the eyelids, brows and nasolabial folds where space is more limited.
Morpheus8
Skin concerns that involve texture, tone, and surface-level firmness are often treated during the same appointment with Morpheus8. Radiofrequency energy is delivered through microneedles placed on the skin, where it encourages collagen formation and tightening on the surface of the skin.
Forma
Forma is a non-invasive radiofrequency option that is used on the outside of the skin to improve elasticity. We can use it on the face and neck. Sessions are comfortable, and this device can be a good option for those who want a shorter and easier recovery.
FAQs About FaceTite
Are There Any Risks or Side Effects With FaceTite?
Temporary swelling, bruising, firmness, or tenderness in the treated area can occur during early healing. Small entry points may form scabs that resolve on their own as the skin heals. Careful technique, temperature monitoring and proper aftercare help limit unwanted effects.
How Long Does the FaceTite Procedure Take?
Treatment time varies based on the size and number of areas being treated. Smaller areas such as the jawline or neck may take an hour, while larger body areas can take longer. Planning, marking, anesthesia administration and treatment are all included in the visit. Time is also allotted for post-treatment dressing and instructions before leaving the office.
Can FaceTite Be Done More Than Once?
FaceTite can be repeated in some cases if additional tightening or contour refinement is desired. Timing between treatments depends on the healing response and tissue condition. We will schedule a follow-up evaluation to discuss additional sessions or complementary treatments.
Is FaceTite Suitable for All Skin Types?
FaceTite treatment can be performed on a wide range of skin tones because radio-frequency energy is not dependent on pigment. Skin thickness, elasticity, and overall health are more relevant factors than skin color.
How Much Does FaceTite Cost?
We will give you a detailed quote during your consultation. The cost of FaceTite varies based on the treatment area, the number of areas addressed, and the extent of tightening or contouring needed. Smaller areas, such as the jawline or neck, typically differ in pricing compared to larger body areas. Anesthesia, treatment time and the addition of other treatments will all influence cost.
Can Men Use FaceTite?
FaceTite is suitable for men who want to sharpen their jawline and reduce submental fat. Male skin is typically thicker and may require different settings, which are easily adjusted during the treatment. We will consider your facial structure and facial hair patterns when marking treatment areas.
Can FaceTite Be Used Preventatively?
FaceTite can be used before laxity develops in patients who want to support tissue firmness early. Radiofrequency energy encourages collagen contraction and renewal as aging progresses. During your consultation, we can talk about the right timing for you based on your skin quality and goals.
