What Is Cellulite?
Cellulite is a natural skin condition that causes ripples in the skin. Both men and women can have cellulite, but it is most prevalent in women. While the condition is harmless, it often affects self-esteem and self-confidence.
This skin condition causes fat to push up against connective tissue beneath the skin’s surface, resulting in the appearance of lumps or dimples. It can affect various areas of the body, most commonly including:
- Thighs
- Hips
- Buttocks
- Abdomen
Little is known regarding the cause of cellulite. However, it is a common condition most women will deal with at some point in their lives. Cellulite typically occurs for factors outside one’s control, like genetics, aging, and skin changes. While weight changes can affect cellulite, even the fittest individuals can still have cellulite.
Many treatments have come out throughout the years with little to no success in reducing or eliminating cellulite. Fortunately, QWO has shown great promise.
What Is QWO?
QWO is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment for moderate to severe cellulite in the buttocks. The QWO injection works to restructure the connective tissues that cause the rippled appearance.
This treatment is quick and minimally invasive. It can significantly help with cellulite reduction without surgery.
QWO can promote the appearance of smoother, more youthful-looking skin around the buttocks. Countless patients are ecstatic with the results of their QWO cellulite reduction treatment.
How Does QWO Cellulite Treatment Work?
The primary cause of the uneven appearance of the skin is the fibrous bands, called the fibrous septae. As fat cells expand, these fibrous bands thicken and push the skin to create the appearance of cellulite.
QWO is an injectable treatment. When injected, the product, which contains enzymes called “collagenases,” targets the cause of the cellulite and releases the fibrous bands under the skin to reduce the appearance of dimpled skin. Additionally, the product redistributes the fat cells in the area and encourages collagen production.
Collagen is a protein the body naturally produces. Among its many functions, it provides structural support to the skin, keeping it strong and smooth. With age, collagen production slows, causing noticeable changes in the skin around the body.
The combination of releasing the fibrous septae, redistributing fat cells, and producing more collagen works together to substantially reduce the appearance of cellulite.

What to Expect During a QWO Injection Treatment
Before your treatment, we’ll have you stand in a way that best shows your cellulite. This gives us a good indication of what areas would benefit most from treatment and allows us to mark them.
After we mark and cleanse the area, you’ll relax while lying on your stomach in preparation for your treatment, as your buttocks muscles should not be engaged during the administration of QWO injections.
We’ll carefully inject the product in the areas previously marked. Typically, each buttock receives 6 to 12 injections, which equals 12 to 24 for the entire area.
After the treatment is complete, you’ll remain lying down for a few minutes. Once you’re ready to go, you’re free to return to your daily activities.
